Accessibility Statement

Accessibility

This accessibility statement applies to the National Risk Register website.

This website is run by the Cabinet Office’s Economic and Domestic Affairs Secretariat.

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand. AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

If you need information on this website in a different format like accessible PDF, large print, easy read, audio recording or braille email nationalrisks@cabinetoffice.gov.uk.

Reporting accessibility problems with this website

We’re always looking to improve the accessibility of this website. If you find any problems not listed on this page or think we’re not meeting accessibility requirements, please email nationalrisks@cabinetoffice.gov.uk.

Enforcement procedure

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (the ‘accessibility regulations’). If you’re not happy with how we respond to your complaint, contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).

Technical information about this website’s accessibility

National Risk Register is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

We are aware that some content may not be easy to access, specifically:

  • The matrix on the Risk assessment page and on the individual risk pages has insufficient colour contrast ratio against adjacent colours.
  • If you are assisted by a screen reader you might have difficulties navigating the matrix due to incorrect markup errors.

Non-accessible content

The matrix on the Risk assessment page and on the individual risk pages has an insufficient colour contrast ratio against adjacent colours. This does not meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) success criterion 1.4.3 ‘Contrast (Minimum)’
If you are assisted by a screen reader you might have difficulties navigating the matrix due to incorrect markup errors. This does not meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) success criterion 1.3.1 Info and Relationships.

We are working to resolve the issues in the next iteration when publishing next year's National Risk Register.

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

We invite feedback on the website’s accessibility in general, and on the content mentioned above in particular. We will then feed this into our next accessibility review and make changes if necessary. Email us at nationalrisks@cabinetoffice.gov.uk
